Motorcycle as 3D large model
The Vespa (Latin/Italian for wasp) is a scooter produced by Piaggio. It is one of the world's most famous and popular scooter types.
The first Vespa, the Vespa 98, was launched in 1946 and was nicknamed "Paperino" (Entchen); it had a displacement of 98 cm3 and was a maximum speed of 60 km/h.
Its inventor was Corradino D'Ascanio – an engineer whose dream was to build helicopters. He developed the concept of Vespa shortly after the end of the war on behalf of Enrico Piaggio, using a seated man around whom he ordered the technique of the new two-wheeler.
As a former designer of warplanes, he wanted to go beyond the production of pots and pans with the available tools.
The original Vespa "98" should be simple, economical and easy to drive – and be built with the existing production facilities. Because Corradino had never designed motorcycles before, he approached this task completely unbiased. The drive and the power transmission were to be as simple as possible and so he opted for a drive-set swingarm without a secondary chain, especially since the chain drive was almost impossible in the time of emergency due to lack of material. Also, the Vespa should not have any engine parts on which one could get dirty. Therefore, the engine was completely concealed. Changing tyres should be as easy as a car.
At the end of 2016, the Vespa Elettrica study, the first Vespa with an electric motor, was presented at the EICMA in Milan. The E-Vespa is based on the current Vespa Primavera. From spring 2018, the E-Vespa with a range of 100 kilometers and a TFT display with on-board computer will be offered for sale at dealers.
However, our Vespa is made of wood and consists of 63 parts. With the help of the illustrated building instruction, it is not difficult to build this style icon yourself.
Please note that this kit is not a toy and can only be used to a limited extent. Please keep the items away from small children under 6 years old. It involves breaking off small parts and being swallowed. We declare the model as a puzzle or decoration
Item Description:
Material: wood
Dimensions approx.28 x 15 x 7 cm (LxWxH)
Weight approx: 1.1 kg
Content: 1 x lasered kit with 63 parts / assembly instructions
Supplied as a lasered kit. This must be assembled by yourself.
No tools needed. The parts must be glued.
The kit is made of wood and has been lasered. This will cause the edges to look burnt and possibly leave traces of soot and smoke on the wood. These can be easily removed with fine sandpaper.
All components are laser cut so that there is a "beautiful" front and a marked, production-related "bad" back. Make sure that the good side always points to the visible side.
These soot and smoke marks as well as the fact that wood is a natural product, which is dimensionally influenced by basic physical laws such as temperature and humidity, there are certain limitations in the nature of the products, which must be consciously accepted.
We offer the most careful choice of material and the most modern production methods, nevertheless one has to accept with wood the peculiarities and unimpeachable characteristics, which are to be observed again and again in the practice - therefore these can not be claimed by the buyer as a material defect.
