VW T1 single cabin - pick up as 3D large model
Volkswagen built on the success of the T1 from 1951 onwards also a flatbed van (known as a single cab).
Initially with a three-seater driver's cab, or with a driver's seat and a two-seater bench seat. Later with two individual seats.
The loading area was continuous at the height of the engine compartment and the engine was accessible from above via a flap in the loading area and from the rear through the corner flap.
The side walls as well as the tailgate of the loading area could be folded down.
Between the engine compartment and the driver's cab there was a protected loading space below the loading area, which could be accessed behind a side flap.
The bed could be covered with a tarpaulin and bows. Commercially, the flatbed truck was a success and was only slightly below the normal panel van in terms of sales figures. The flatbed truck was also available with an enlarged wooden flatbed and was offered for around 5725 DM.
