Sugar Skull - Dia de los Muerto as a mandala mural
The mandala is a figural or geometric form in the form of the Yantra, which has a magical or religious meaning in cult practice in Hinduism and Buddhism.
A mandala is usually square or circular and always oriented towards a center.
Our mandala shows a typical sugar scull made up of 4mm thick layers. The layers become more and more filigree from bottom to top, giving a spatial, almost magical perspective.

On the day of the dead, Spanish Día de Muertos (also Día de los Muertos), is the day of the Mexican holidays, traditionally the deceased is remembered.

Mixing with the Christian faith, there is a related cultural festival that lets the customs of the pre-Hispanic Mexico fever live on.
The Day of the Dead is not an opening of mourning, but only a popular festival in honor of the dead. According to popular belief, the souls of the deceased and these days lead back to the families to visit them. The memory of the deceased stands in the speeches. The streets are taught with flowers, symbols of death and transience, skeletons and skulls in the horror stars, stand in the shop windows, you can see pictures of Calavera Catrina. Pastry shops close just before All Saints' Day, the Calaveras de Azúcar, skulls made from sugar, chocolate, Amaranto, marzipan and the like. a., which bear the names of the dead on the front. The center of the celebrations is the orendenda, traditional death altars or gift tables in the apartments, some also in public places. Bring your own food, drink, play music and dance. At midnight the time had come for the deceased, back to the afterlife. The festival is over until the dead feel in the current year.

On the back are different holes that can be used for hanging.The mandala comes as a kit and must be assembled by you.
Fixing points are embedded in the individual plates, which are numbered, in which small logs are inserted to guide and position the layers during assembly. So nothing can go wrong. The last layer covers these fixing points so that they are no longer recognizable.
If you want, you can also color the layers before assembly so that the spatial effect is enhanced or the mandala is presented in your desired colors.
