Star Wars - B-Wing Starfighter Typ A/SF-01 as 3D large model

The heavy A / SF-01-B-wing attack star fighter, also known as B-wing star fighter or simply B-wing, also known as spinner or cross in pilot's slang, was developed by Commander Gial Ackbar in collaboration with the Verpinen engineers of Slayn & Korpil designed. He represented the frontal attack fighter and fighter-bomber for special missions of the Rebel Alliance at the time of the Galactic Civil War and also served the New Republic and the Galactic Alliance.

The B-wing was conspicuous because of its unique construction, which consisted of a stationary pulpit with cockpit and a gyroscopically suspended main wing that could rotate 360 ​​degrees around the machine. Thanks to this construction and the swinging wing construction, the field of fire increased, while the enemy at the same time had problems detecting the movements of the B-wing with its target sensors. However, this advantage was bought at the expense of user-friendliness, as the B-wing was known for its heavy control, which is why it could only be flown by very experienced and talented pilots. The elaborate construction also had a negative effect on repairs and maintenance measures, as the three wings of the machine lay on top of one another when idle and thus blocked access to the central area.

The designers of the B-wing equipped it with a heavy and versatile arsenal that could be put together individually depending on the operational plan or the personal preferences of the pilots. As standard, the weapon systems included a heavy R-9X laser cannon from Gyrhil on the lower nacelle, a Gyrhil-72 double autoblaster in the cockpit, a Krupx MG9 proton torpedo launcher each over the engines and on the lower nacelle approach, the lower one being of the emission type [10] and each had a 4-round magazine for heavy torpedoes [4] or 6-round magazine for normal torpedoes, [5] as well as three heavy [6] ArMek SW 7a ion cannons, one of which is each on the two S-wings and one on the pulpit. However, it was possible to add additional weapon systems or to replace them, such as additional car blasters that could be attached under the cockpit. [1] There was space for up to four auto blasters alone. It also happened that the autoblasters were completely removed, all three ion cannons were relocated there, and the laser cannons were attached to the wing tips. [11] This configuration had a 12 torpedo magazine. [9] Furthermore, apart from the torpedo launchers, each of the weapon groups was equipped with a low-energy target acquisition laser, which some weapons also shared. The star fighter could also be converted for non-combat missions, as the wing tips could easily be equipped with other equipment modules. For example, after the Battle of Endor in year 4 NSY, some B-wing aircraft were used to fight fires, using spray nozzles at the attachment points. When flying in space, the B-wing benefited from a powerful Quadex Kyromaster engine or four heavy 290 KTU-S & K-JZ-5 fusion engines, which accelerated the heavy machine to 91 MGLT, while in the interstellar environment the long-range HYd- 997 hyperdrive motivator was used. This robust propulsion system, which corresponded to hyperdrive class 2, allowed a speed only half as high as that of the X, A or even Y-wing, but it kept the generally high production costs lower. The LpM-549 navigation sensor from Microaxial was able to store only two jump coordinates, but the connection to the navigation computer ensured that the B-wing could do without an astromech droid. Both the extensive sensor system as well as the engines and the powerful navicomputer were actually intended for heavy gunboats or light capital ships.

The kit is made of wood and has been lasered. This will cause the edges to look burnt and possibly leave traces of soot and smoke on the wood. These can be easily removed with fine sandpaper.
All components are laser cut so that there is a "beautiful" front and a marked, production-related "bad" back. Make sure that the good side always points to the visible side.
These soot and smoke marks as well as the fact that wood is a natural product, which is dimensionally influenced by basic physical laws such as temperature and humidity, there are certain limitations in the nature of the products, which must be consciously accepted.
We offer the most careful choice of material and the most modern production methods, nevertheless one has to accept with wood the peculiarities and unimpeachable characteristics, which are to be observed again and again in the practice - therefore these can not be claimed by the buyer as a material defect.
