Porsche 964 (911 4th Generation) as 3D large modell
The Porsche 964 is a sports car from the automobile manufacturer Porsche.
It came onto the market in 1989 and is the third generation of the Porsche 911 and thus the successor to the "G model".
The 964 was offered with both rear-wheel drive Carrera 2 and all-wheel drive Carrera 4. In general, equipment was available for the Porsche 964 that was not offered on the previous model, such as power steering and anti-lock braking system.
The engine output of the 964 ranges from 184 kW (250 hp) in the Carrera models to 265 kW (360 hp) in the turbo model.
After the G-model had been in production for more than 15 years, a model change was urgently needed. At the end of the 1980s, Porsche found itself in a serious crisis. The Porsche 944, with which Porsche achieved its greatest turnover, could no longer be sold with the hoped-for figures.
The customers who wanted to drive a Porsche 911 also changed. When making a purchase decision, the focus was no longer solely on the pure driving performance of the car, but also on driving comfort. The basic design of the 911 was still based on the status of the 1960s and was no longer up-to-date in many parts. Although the 911 was constantly being improved, the end of commercially viable options had been reached.
In order to be able to offer a modern and marketable vehicle again, the Porsche 964 was developed. When developing this model, Porsche was able to draw on a great deal of know-how thanks to earlier prototypes and small series models such as the Porsche 959.
The 964 therefore contains many technical solutions that did not exist in the Porsche 911: for the first time, a mass-produced vehicle with all-wheel drive was offered by Porsche. The new concept was a simplified version of the 959's propulsion technology.
Porsche also discarded the torsion bar suspension that had been in use for the 356 and 911 for 40 years: The 964 was given a completely new light-alloy chassis with MacPherson struts at the front and coil springs on the semi-trailing arms at the rear. Power steering and anti-lock braking system were standard; the new 3.6-liter engine got dual ignition with knock control and a regulated three-way catalytic converter.
Despite the many innovations, the sales designation Porsche 911 was retained; the term 911 was already too strongly associated with Porsche at this point in time for people to want to do without it. In addition, the characteristics of the Porsche 964 were aimed at the expectations of 911 customers for a sports car at the end of the 1980s.
The marketing of the vehicle was supported by memorable advertising designed and conceived by the advertising agency "Jung von Matt":
"You can have breakfast longer. You're back early for dinner. Is there a better family car?”
The Porsche 964 was very successful in sales and is still very popular on the used car market today.

Our wooden model is in no way inferior to the original from 1964. It shows the beautiful curves and the great design.
The shape of the Porsche in particular is one of its trademarks to this day and many other manufacturers have tried to copy it into their vehicle series - with more or less success.
The model consists of 165 parts, which even as an inexperienced model builder can guide you to the finished model using the illustrated assembly instructions.
Of course you can give your model an individual color by glazing or painting it.
Please note that this kit is not a toy and can only be used to a limited extent. Please keep the items away from small children under 6 years old. It involves breaking off small parts and being swallowed. We declare the model as a puzzle or decoration
Item Description:
Material: wood
Dimensions approx.: 38 x 18 x 11,6 cm (LxWxH)
Weight approx: 1.3 kg
Content: 1 x lasered kit with 165 parts / assembly instructions
Supplied as a lasered kit. This must be assembled by yourself.
No tools needed. The parts must be glued.
The kit is made of wood and has been lasered. This will cause the edges to look burnt and possibly leave traces of soot and smoke on the wood. These can be easily removed with fine sandpaper.
All components are laser cut so that there is a "beautiful" front and a marked, production-related "bad" back. Make sure that the good side always points to the visible side.
These soot and smoke marks as well as the fact that wood is a natural product, which is dimensionally influenced by basic physical laws such as temperature and humidity, there are certain limitations in the nature of the products, which must be consciously accepted.
We offer the most careful choice of material and the most modern production methods, nevertheless one has to accept with wood the peculiarities and unimpeachable characteristics, which are to be observed again and again in the practice - therefore these can not be claimed by the buyer as a material defect.
