Mill Game - one of the oldest board games we know
The mill game is probably one of the oldest board games we know.
During excavation work on Roman border fortifications, different game variants of the mill games were discovered - including the mill wheel, which was a popular pastime of the Roman legionaries who played the game about 2000 years ago.
The rules of the game:
The aim of the game is to place a mill with your three pieces. H. Place three pieces in a row that runs across the middle.
Each player receives three pieces of one color.
At the beginning of the game, the pieces are alternately placed on the game board. Here, strategic attention should be paid to obstructing the opponent's opportunities to win, or to set himself so that the mill can succeed quickly.
When all the pieces are on the board, they are drawn alternately along the connecting lines, but always only in the closest free position.
Skipping game pieces is not allowed. It is also not allowed to sit out, there is an obligation to act. The game is over when one player manages to set a mill.
The game board is approx. 30 cm tall and milled from multiplex wood and has a nice look and feel. it has a
The 60mm large game pieces are made of beech wood and can be tackled through the indentations made in the board.
The game figures - also called game cones - are designed with a height of approx. 60mm and a diameter of approx. 30mm.
Note: The game board is made of multi-layer plywood, which when processing and inserting the recessed playing fields can lead to the playing fields appearing in a light or dark wood look depending on the depth of processing and the layer structure (see our product photo in which the playing fields are dark ).
The light or dark wood look cannot be influenced by us and is given by the layer structure in the wood and does not represent a processing error.
