Citroën Type H (Tub) 3D large model
What the VW bus was for Germany, the Citroën Type H was for the French.
The Citroën Type H was a small van made by the French automobile manufacturer Citroën. Depending on the permissible payload, different type designations were used (H, HY, HX, HW, HZ and 1600). HY is often used as a designation for all H models.
The Type H was one of the most widespread vans in France, because it was built from June 1948 to December 1981 - that is for 33 years, at times also in Belgium and the Netherlands. Its successor was the Citroën C25 produced by Sevel Süd, which was also available as a Peugeot J5 and Fiat Ducato, among others.
The front-wheel drive delivery van H was presented at the Paris Motor Show in autumn 1947, a year before the 2CV.
It was developed from the Citroën TUB, which was only built in small numbers before the war (which is why it is still often called "Tub" in France). The engine and transmission came from the Traction Avant sedan and later the DS, but each installed the other way around – i.e. with the engine in front of the front axle and with the opposite direction of engine rotation.
The self-supporting body covered with corrugated sheet metal and the space-saving chassis with double wishbones at the front, parallel swingarms at the rear and torsion bar suspension on both axles enabled a low loading sill. She was 35 cm above the ground.
The later model designations HX, HY, HW and HZ denoted the variants with different payloads.
The various extensions of the wheelbase and rear overhang, which were not built by Citroën themselves, but only by coachbuilders (French coachbuilders such as Currus, Gruau, Heuliez or SAPA), had the designations Modification A (40 centimeters overhang) to Modification F (1, 2 meter wheelbase extension and 60 centimeter overhang). There were roof increases of 10 centimeters (for ambulances), 20 centimeters and 40 centimeters and each with (avec capot) or without (sans capot) an increase in the roof over the driver's cab.
From the factory there was only the delivery van with a length of 4.28 meters and as a chassis with a driver's cab. Type H variants were widespread in public service, such as for the police, fire brigade, post office and as ambulances. The offer from the coachbuilders was primarily aimed at medium-sized companies, with covered wagons (also with double cabs), car transporters, low-floor pallet trucks, sales vehicles, minibuses, refrigerated trucks, mobile homes, animal transporters, hearses, rolling laboratories and much more. There were also variants with the DS's hydropneumatic suspension on the rear axle, most of which were ambulances made by Dutch coachbuilder Akkermans.
Item Description:
Material: 4mm wood
Dimensions approx. 58 x 28 x 31,5 cm (LxBxH))
Weight approx: 1.6 kg
Content: 1 x lasered kit with 212 parts / assembly instructions
Supplied as a lasered kit. This must be assambled by yourself.
No tools needed. The parts must be glued.
The kit is made of wood and has been lasered. This will cause the edges to look burnt and possibly leave traces of soot and smoke on the wood. These can be easily removed with fine sandpaper.
All components are laser cut so that there is a "beautiful" front and a marked, production-related "bad" back. Make sure that the good side always points to the visible side.
These soot and smoke marks as well as the fact that wood is a natural product, which is dimensionally influenced by basic physical laws such as temperature and humidity, there are certain limitations in the nature of the products, which must be consciously accepted.
We offer the most careful choice of material and the most modern production methods, nevertheless one has to accept with wood the peculiarities and unimpeachable characteristics, which are to be observed again and again in the practice - therefore these can not be claimed by the buyer as a material defect.
