Ceiling lamp "Blue Whale"
The blue whale (Balaenoptera musculus) is a baleen whale in the family of rorquals (Balaenopteridae).
Blue whales grow to an average length of 26 metres, with those living in the waters of the southern hemisphere generally being larger than their counterparts in the northern hemisphere. The animals reach a length of up to 30 metres, and the largest blue whale measured using scientific methods was 33.6 metres (1922). This makes the blue whale one of the largest animals that have ever lived. Only a few animals were and may be somewhat longer, including dinosaurs such as Seismosaurus and Patagotitan, as well as the recent lineworm Lineus longissimus. The extinct whale species Perucetus colossus may have surpassed the blue whale in weight, but not in length.
We adapted our lamp to the stylised view of a blue whale and designed it so that the lamp is easy to set up and still casts a beautiful play of light and shadow.
The lamp holder is attached in such a way that the whale always hangs straight. By unscrewing the socket holder from above, the lamp socket can be removed to replace the light bulb (E14 socket).
ATTENTION:
The lamp is delivered in individual parts, which you have to assemble yourself according to the assembly instructions. Simply putting them together is not enough.
Due to the delicate and small connection points, this task is not that easy and requires time and calm in each construction phase, as the glued contact points must first dry.
We recommend using quick-drying wood glue and clamps or clothespins to fix it in place.
But with calm and patience you can also overcome this challenge.

We offer this lamp as a milled or lasered kit.
A) Lasered version:
With a laser-cut kit, lasering causes the edges to look burnt and possibly leaving traces of soot and smoke on the wood. These can be easily removed with fine sandpaper.
B) Lasered & ground:
This kit was laser cut and then reworked by us so that the soot and smoke traces were removed from the surface. Nevertheless, dark rams remain at the cut edges.
C) Milled version:
In a milled kit, the edges and surfaces are clean and in typical wood color and surface.
Notes on machining with laser:
All components are laser cut so that there is a "beautiful" front and a marked, production-related "bad" back. Make sure that the good side always points to the visible side.
These soot and smoke marks as well as the fact that wood is a natural product, which is dimensionally influenced by basic physical laws such as temperature and humidity, there are certain limitations in the nature of the products, which must be consciously accepted.
We offer the most careful choice of material and the most modern production methods, nevertheless one has to accept with wood the peculiarities and unimpeachable characteristics, which are to be observed again and again in the practice - therefore these can not be claimed by the buyer as a material defect.
